Cito Dropboards

I was commissioned by a local sailmaker to build a new set of dropboards for his sailboat, Cito. The two lower boards were made by joining two pieces of teak using dowels and G-Flex epoxy. The top board was made using rails and stiles to capture the louvers. The bottom edge of each board was beveled to aid in the shedding of water. Once all three board were glued up, I added the cove detail on the sides. I used a large cove bit on the router table to establish the radius and then removed the remaining material by running the pieces through the table saw vertically. Lastly I cleaned up those faces with hand tools.
