The first set of dropboards I designed and built were for the Folkboat at the NWSWB. The boards without louvers are made of two pieces of teak half-lapped together and then bread-boarded by two more pieces with tongue-and-groove joinery. For the louvered board I used a rail and stile construction. The bottom edge of each board has a half-lap profile to prevent water from getting into the cabin. I made the louvers by milling teak into long strips and rounding the edges with a beading bit on the router table. The slots for the louvers were made using a plunging router and a custom jig.
